OLLTSO started as Matthew Downes (Left Of The Right Side) recording and producing music in his bedroom as his alter ego Ollie Legless; a musical crusader fighting for his creative rights. Ollie's struggle for musical freedom manifested itself into a series of adventurous, electro-rock bursts of inspiration on 'The Legend Of Ollie Legless', his long forgotten debut. Ollie was fighting the machine; rebelling against a music industry of fabricated pop-idols to produce music the likes of which had never been heard before and, with the help of CKMusic, was bringing his musical innovation to the world.

OLLTSO rose from the ashes of 13Down, Matt’s screamo side-project with close friend Gary Pullen (For more on 13Down click here!). After writing and recording two albums, the latter of which was never released, 13Down began falling apart and Matt decided to continue on his own, describing the feeling of writing music without Gaz’s musical input as ‘like having one leg left to stand on’, and so the legend was born.

Over the next few years Matt would let his creativity run wild and produce some of his most inspired work, with the freedom to do whatever he wanted Matt’s music crossed the boundaries between styles as he leapt from instrument to instrument, from time signature to time signature and ultimately from one brilliant piece of music to the next.

Currently Matt is working with Communal Fridge to re-release albums such as 'The Getting Older EP' and working on a CD of 'The Singles' that were previously available on the CKMusic Webstore. He is also working on some new tracks as well as a possible new EP - watch this space!
