About Communal Fridge,

The name Communal Fridge came from early discussions between Matt Downes and Shaun Taylor shortly after the formation of the band Left Of The Right Side. We're not entirely sure how or why we came up with the name Communal Fridge or what it was initially intended for but we liked it and it has since been used as a generic name for anything we've achieved collectively - you'll see the name linked to web design amongst other things!

Now, the Communal Fridge name is proudly used as the name of Communal Fridge Studios near Maidstone in Kent. We are currently operating out of the back bedroom of a house so we are only doing small projects, including local bands and our own music, however we do hope to be able to offer our services on a wider scale when we are able to move to a new premises. If you do have any questions or would like us to assist on any projects you have please feel free to get in touch, we often can accommodate local artists, especially for Mixing, and we can also record professional quality Voice Over's etc!

So, the future, what does it have in store for Communal Fridge? We are currently investing a great deal of time and money into upgrading our current set up. We are now able to record 8 Mics simultaneously into ProTools M-Powered 8, which, coupled with some new mics and outboard gear, will vastly increase our recording capabilities - see the 'Studio' page for details.

After the upgrade is complete we do hope to eventually move to a new location and be able to offer our services to a wider audience, keep checking back for progress - although it may be a while! We have also started releasing music as a small independant record label so keep checking back for more updates on that!
